What are your thoughts on the Tampa Bay Rays building a new baseball stadium?
I was reading today that the Tampa Bay Rays want to construct a new outdoor stadium for the team in St. Petersburg for the 2012 season. If this stadium is constructed, it will be designed as a sailboat and would be like San Francisco park except that it would have a cover over the stadium.
What are your thoughs on the Tampa Bay Rays new baseball stadium and do you believe this stadium could bring more fans to Rays games.

The fact of the matter is I don’t think the stadium will get built unless the Rays get some fans. This season marks the 10th season the Rays have been in the league. They have not made the playoffs once. Of course the fact they share a division with the Yankees and the Red Sox certainly has not helped, but I mean they have finished in dead last in 4th place in their division pretty much ever year. Where are these Rays fans that are going to go out to this new stadium? Is the city of St. Petersburg willing to splurge to get a new stadium on a team that sucks. I don’t see this stadium getting built unless the Rays start selling out Tropicana and winning some ball games. Otherwise, it might be time to look for a new home. Charlotte, Oklahoma City, Nashville, all potential spots for this team.
