i need help finding a cruise that leaves new york around august 9 2010 and its destination is Tampa Florida. Thanks

That would be a repositioning cruise. You’d have to find a cruise ship that was currently stationed in NY and will now be doing it’s sailing out of Florida. That is highly unlikely as NY usually only gets one ship sailing out of it and being that it’s such a crappy route (several days at sea with nothing to see, Atlantic is very choppy), cruise lines tend to put older smaller ships on that route. Older ships wouldn’t be brought back to Florida often b/c they need their bigger newer ships there to attract the most people. August is also not a popular time for repositioning as the “season” isn’t over yet.

The second factor you’d run into is the Jones Act. It is illegal for a ship to not make one stop outside of the US. A cruises will go to Cozumel and back but not Key West and back. All cruises make at least one port of call outside of the US, in either Bahamas, Bermuda. So one from New York would probably stop in Bermuda as that’s kinda the only thing on the way. Being that Bermuda is rather farther north and out of the Caribbean, it is not as popular a destination. Not too many do that.

Your last problem is that August 9, 2010 is a Monday and not many ships depart on Monday.

Basically I think your odds are just about nil of being able to find that cruise.
