Can anyone give me some info on the Town ‘n’ Country and Carrollwood areas of Tampa?

I am a 21 yo female moving to the Tampa area. I will be attending HCC-Dale Mabry campus for 1 semester then transfer to USF. I would like to find a place somewhere in between so I will not have a horrible commute to either school. I’m thinking Town ‘n’ Country or Carrollwood? I am interested in a safe neighborhood, local shopping and restaurants. Any additional info about these places would be great! Thanks!
