to old to start up on hockey?

i’m 14.
i just started street hockey.
play soccer, baseball, tennis, football. but they never interfere with each other.
my dad started when he was 4-40 years old

If it is something you really want to do, then go for it. Is it likely you could make a career out of it starting this late no. However starting now it’s not that out of the question to play for enjoyment and with the hope of possibly playing at the college (D3 or club level).

I started playing street with 2-3 friends around 12 and didn’t start playing ice until I was almost 17. I regret backing out of starting ice at 14, but otherwise I love every minute I’m on the ice.

I’m 23 now playing adult league hockey twice a week. I found many friends and get good exercise from it.

Once you go through the first few years of trying out different things (curves, etc.) and figure out your preferences. You might also run into a little trouble finding places to play, but then again I’m not that familiar with the Tampa area.

Will hockey ever be as affordable as soccer, baseball, or tennis; no. I’ve played all the sports you have competitively except for tennis and always have had and still do have the most fun playing hockey.
